LGRC have to welcome a new member of the clan into the world. The amazing Q has produced all of Lea's original work since another century ago. We are so proud to announce that Q 's wife,Liz Miles delivered a beautiful baby girl Jessica Kate on 13/1/2007. Sister to Jazz ,Liam ,Joe and Zoe(also born 13/1). She came into the world totally in her body and with the first 3 chords of Pink Floyd's, "Dark side of the Moon"worked out . We can't wait to know more of you Jess. Do you want a job in a band????.

ODE TO POWERFUL BOOM BOOM

Dan powerful Boom Boom Power joined Rock Chic about a year ago. When he auditioned I thought he was a guitarist so imagine my surprise when he pulled out a drumkit and started playing like he was born with sticks. Dan has been a great asset to the rhythm section. He is moving on now and we wish him very well. We will miss the beautiful Chloe, Dan's trusty driver/ roadie/girlfriend thanks for getting him there on time all the time Chloe. XX
Our next gig is Sawtell RSL Friday 26/01/2007 our new line up Lea Gillard, Kara Mia , Glenn Heath , Geoff Dixon and new drummer Lawrence Pastro. Entry is free and we kick up our heals at 8.30

DIDN'T WE HAVE A LOVELY TIME

Well , fireworks erupted , people danced and hugged in the street and we hadn't even started playing yet !!! Scotts Head Bowling Club New Years Eve 2006.
Lea Gillard launched off with her stunning new line up and special guest Sharon Noble!
The new line up includes Kara Mia on backing vocals, Glenn Heath on flaming guitar , Geoff Dixon rock of rock on bass and Lawrence Pastro King boom boomon durms.
The band played swayed and wiggled through the first set introducing Sharon in the 2nd set
Sharon walked on stage sang her first note the totally floored us all. The woman has a gargantuam voice and a passionate resonance with her audience.
Lea and the band continued to Rock the night away . Kara is vivacious and theatrical on stage and is a compliment to Lea s exuberance. "Da boys rocked their heads off with Glenn starring in his own rendition of Fleetwood Mac's "Big Love" . They saw in the new year with Imagine and skated out with Cat Empires Sly.
Finally they ended up toasting in the New Year with the bowlo staff and a jolly time was had by all.

FROM LEAH TO PRINCESS

For several days I have sat here waiting for the right words to say about Leah's departure from the Chicks. I thought it would be short...., prolly( Rosie term) not.
I first found Leah, singing at the South Arm Hall Talent Quest when she was about 17 .I think she was even playing with Dan our powerful boom boom drummer on guitar!!!! I immediately went in search of her Mum to get permission to snaffle her. At the time Q and I were rehearsing up a show and Leah fitted in like a glove. That led on to her working in L&Q as a backing vocalist. My main memories of that are her and I cacking ourselves mostly, and Leah following me around in " ad lib this "dance mode, with her telling my bottom that she was not comfortable doing this but doing it anyway. Always with a hearty laugh.
She left L&Q and pursued her architectual engineering thing for a while until Rosie and I talked her into joining us as a Chiccenne.
The band bloomed and blossomed with me, Rosie 4tune and Leah on the frontline. Gradually Leah transformed into Princess Leah with her incredible soprano and the familiar shouts of "Leah rocks" from what I perceived to be die hard fans of the Princess herself.
Princess Leah's last night as a Chic will be at Sawtell RSL on 23rd of Ho Ho Ho December 2006 ,with Lea , Kara Mia the new girl and Princess Leah from another planet on vocals. Our superb lineup band on the night will be Glenn Heath major lead guitar; Geoff (the ROCK) Dixon bass; Dan (powerful boom boom) Power drums. Maybe we could even get Rosie to come along and belt out a cuppla tunes. Be there and find out I reckon anything could happen . Mmmmm even maybe Mark wells. We have to spend that money........?

Lea Gillard's Rock Chic will be bursting into Bellingen Bowling Club on Saturday 16th December , spreading peace ,party and goodwill of the season.
Lea's amazing , powerful ability to party will be sensationally backed by Chiccennes Princess Leah and our very own new one Kara Mia , Glenn Heath guitar, Geoff Dixon bass and Dan (powerful boom boom ) drums.
This fabulous night comes on the tail end of the unearthing of Lea's song "Mercy" on triple j. Come along and celebrate her national recognition, Mercy CDs will be available on the night.

With Rosie leaving and Leah being the perfect Princess and changing her mind about what date she is leaving, Rock Chic are welcoming a new Chiccenne to love and adore.
Introducing the vivacious Kara Mia. You can see Lea Gillard's Rock Chic at the Bellingen market Saturday 18th November at 10 am. Woohoo they will be raging with their eyes closed. Lea Gillard vocals piano, lines up with Rosie Fortune , guitar,piano backing vocals ; Princess Leah,piano , backing vocals; Kara Mia backing vocals ; Glen Heath lead guitar; Geoff Dixon bass; Dan Power ( as the name suggests powerful boom boom) drums . Then at 5pm at The Federal Hotel.

Yes our treasured Rosie Fortune is leaving us to pursue her solo career. While we will really miss Rosie we wish her heaps of success with her new album. Rosie has been with the band since the onset and with her administrative, techno and musical talent she has been integral in defining the success of this band.
You can see Rosie's final performance with L.G. R.C at the Bellingen market and then at The Federal Hotel on 18th November 2006.

You ain't heard nothin' til you've heard the incredible Lea Gillard perform, and her beautiful Rock Chic band give their all at every gig. Lately, the Rock Chicks have been getting their original music out and about, codenamed TIPPER AND SUPER DOG.
Lea Gillard's solo EP Mercy is available at gigs and Rosie is planning to release her debut solo album early 2007.

We all wish her a most speedy recovery and look forward to when she is back on stage!

This Saturday night, 22nd July, tune your radio to 105.9FM as Lea Gillard's Rock Chic go live to air on 2NVR, Nambucca Valley Radio. If you're lucky, you might be able to get into the Bowraville Community Centre to watch the show. If you can't, then turn up your radio and let Rock Chic entertain you from 7:30pm!

They'll be playing some of their originals during the night so keep tuned all night!

Lea Gillard's Rock Chic are at the Star Hotel, Macksville this Friday night (July 14)
On Sunday we head to Urunga for "Music at the Mouth". We'll be doing all our original stuff, technically under the name TIPPER & SUPER DOG, so hope you can make it. It's a mighty fine place by the river for an afternoon of local music.

Saturday week (July 22nd) we are doing a live radio concert on 2NVR 105.9FM Nambucca Valley Radio from 7:30pm. We'll be broadcasting from the Community Centre in downtown Bowraville. If you want to come along and watch, it's just a donation at the door for the upkeep of the Community Centre. We'll be doing lots of originals early in the night so we hope you can tune in to 105.9FM

Of course we'll be at Sawtell RSL on Friday the 21st July, then along to the Federal Hotel at Bellingen on Saturday the 29th

We played Scotts Heads Bowlo Saturday 25th March (pictured, by Victoria Rowland). One of our favourite gigs, those living surfside love their music and certainly aren't afraid to dance.

Now Rock Chic heads for the hills, playing Bellingen and Dorrigo this weekend.

Don't miss the fun at the Federal Hotel, Bellingen Friday 31st March from 9pm. We motor up the mountain for the Dorrigo Hotel, Dorrigo on Saturday 1st April.

What an amazing day.

After a week of rain, we arrived at Bellingen Markets under a blazing sun, far too early for musicians to be awake. We had a fantastic reaction from the crowds there and lost count of the people who said "you are the best band that's played here"! Thank you so much, we had an absolute ball.

Then we packed up all the gear, loaded it into the utes, and took it up the road to the Federal Hotel. We played the sun down on the verandah and it was love, love, love.

What a beautiful day.

In-store performances happen every day in the big smoke, but it may never have happened in Macksville before! To celebrate Lea Gillard's solo CD Mercy, Lea Gillard's Rock Chic played unplugged in Leading Edge Music, Macksville on Friday afternoon, November 18. While shoppers browsed they were treated to Lea's original music in the flesh! CDs were signed and school kids stopped to stare in the window. The band then headed off to the Star Hotel for a huge night, with people from all over the Valley letting their hair down and enjoying a class act!
